nanny blunder

Yesterday I did something that I'm not proud of: I cut Logan's hair. I started cutting it because he told me his ears were spiky. He kept scratching at them, and I finally realized that he was talking about his hair. So I grabbed my scissors with the intention of just cutting around his ears. I took about two snips, and I realized that I should have consulted with Mom first. Two snips is two too many, though, with this kind of thing: I had to finish. Once I finished cleaning up around his ears, I realized that if I didn't cut the back of his hair he'd have a mullet. So I had at it. He's almost 3, so he isn't the best at sitting still. You can only tell in one or two spots, though. It doesn't look awful; I just wish I'd talked to Mom about it before starting. Probably the only impulse decision I've made in a while, and now I remember why I don't make impulse decisions: I usually regret that I didn't take more time to think about it. : / His hair looks fine; I just wish I'd thought about it long enough to confer with Mom. C'mon, Jessica...
